How to use it

A paycheck budget plans one paycheck at a time instead of a whole month. Write the pay date and take-home pay at the top, then list the bills and spending categories that come due before the next payday, with a due date, planned amount, actual amount and a paid box for each of the 20 lines.

At the bottom, subtract the planned total from your pay. In a zero-based plan, that number is $0 because every dollar is assigned somewhere, including savings. It works for weekly, biweekly or twice-monthly pay: print one sheet per paycheck. If you are not sure what your take-home pay will be, the take-home pay calculator gives a rough estimate.

Printing tips

Goes well with: take-home pay calculator, bill tracker, monthly budget sheet.

FAQ

How is a paycheck budget different from a monthly budget?

It plans one paycheck at a time and covers only the bills due before the next payday, rather than the whole month at once.

Does it work for biweekly or weekly pay?

Yes. Print one sheet per paycheck.

Which bills go on which paycheck?

The ones due before the following payday. Bills due later go on the next sheet.

Is it free?

Yes. Free for personal use, with no sign-up.

This printable is an organizing tool, not financial advice.
