How to use it
The debt snowball is a payoff order. You list debts from the smallest balance to the largest, keep making the minimum payment on each, and send any extra money to the smallest one. When that debt is paid off, its payment rolls into the next one on the list. This worksheet has room for 10 debts with balance, minimum payment, interest rate, extra payment and payoff date, plus a 12-line log for recording each payment.
The Rate % column also lets you sort the same list in avalanche order, which goes from the highest interest rate to the lowest. The avalanche order usually means less interest paid overall, and the snowball order usually means the first debt is gone sooner. The sheet works with either order; number the rows in whichever order you pick. For advice about your own situation, a qualified professional or a nonprofit credit counselor can help.
Printing tips
- Update each balance from your latest statement once a month.
- Shade a row when that debt reaches $0.
- Write only the last 4 digits of an account number, never the full number.
- Print at 100% or "Actual size" on US Letter paper (8.5 x 11 in). If you are in a country that uses A4, choose "Fit to page" so nothing gets cut off at the edges.
Goes well with: monthly budget sheet, printable expense tracker, paycheck budget worksheet.
FAQ
What is the debt snowball?
A payoff order: smallest balance first, minimums on everything else, and each paid-off payment rolled into the next debt.
What is the difference between snowball and avalanche?

Does it calculate interest?
No. It is a paper worksheet. Copy balances from your statements to keep it current.
Is this financial advice?
No. It is an organizing tool. For advice about your situation, talk to a qualified professional or a nonprofit credit counselor.
This printable is an organizing tool, not financial advice.
