Take-Home Pay Calculator (2026 estimate)

This free calculator estimates 2026 take-home pay from your gross pay, filing status, state and pre-tax 401(k) or health deductions. It subtracts federal income tax using 2026 brackets, Social Security, Medicare and a simplified state rate, then shows net pay per year, month and biweekly paycheck. It is an estimate, not tax advice.

Estimate, not tax advice. Results are rough estimates using 2026 federal brackets and simplified state rates. Your actual pay depends on withholding, benefits, credits and local taxes. Check with a tax professional or the IRS withholding estimator.

FAQ

How is take-home pay estimated?

Gross pay minus federal income tax (2026 brackets after the standard deduction), Social Security (6.2% up to $184,500), Medicare (1.45% plus 0.9% over $200k single / $250k joint) and an approximate state income tax rate.

Which states have no income tax?

Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming have no tax on wages.

Is this tax advice?

No. It is a rough estimate. Credits, pre-tax benefits, local taxes and your W-4 change real results.

CA, NY, OR, NJ, MN and IL use real graduated brackets, state standard deductions/exemptions and basic credits (Tax Foundation table of 2026 state rates; some brackets are 2025 inflation-adjusted). Other states use a simplified flat approximation applied after the federal standard deduction. Head of household uses single-filer state brackets. Local/city taxes (e.g. NYC) and state payroll taxes (e.g. CA SDI) are not included. Federal: IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-32; Social Security wage base $184,500 (SSA).
