How to use it
A clean, single-column resume layout that applicant tracking systems and hiring managers can read easily. It has a name and contact header, then summary, experience (three jobs with three bullet points each), education and skills sections.
Use it as a fill-in worksheet to draft your resume by hand, then type the final version in the same layout. Start each bullet with an action verb and include a number when you can, such as "Cut order errors 20% by..." Keep the summary to two or three lines aimed at the job you want. List experience newest first and keep the whole thing to one page unless you have over ten years of relevant work.
Printing tips
- Match key words from the job posting in your bullets.
- Ask a friend to proofread before sending.
- Save the final version as a PDF named FirstLast-Resume.
- Print at 100% or "Actual size" on US Letter paper (8.5 x 11 in). If you are in a country that uses A4, choose "Fit to page" so nothing gets cut off at the edges.
